Dr. Sopoliga earned her doctorate from Michigan State University in 2002.  She practiced exclusively Emergency Medicine, including 16 years at Oakland Veterinary Referral Services in Bloomfield Hills.  She earned her Recover Rescuer CPR Advanced Life Support certification in 2019.  She seeks out frequent continuing education to make sure she is practicing the best medicine possible. She is an Elite Fear Free Certified Professional and considers the emotional health of her patients to be a top priority with their veterinary care.  

Her special interests include soft tissue surgery, wound care, trauma, resuscitation, managing anxiety/stress in animals, positive reinforcement training and pain management.  She is an active member of AVMA, SEMVA and a legacy VECCS member.  Dr. Sopoliga enjoys family time with her husband, two children, rescued Rottweiler mix Starlight, a Scottish Fold cat Cami, two tabby littermates Carroll & Shelby, a crested gecko and her beloved horse Reverie (which she has clicker trained!)  Any remaining free time is spent reading, baking, exercising and spending time outdoors.
